Profile
As Director of the Aging and Population Health Laboratory at SFU, Dawn Mackey conducts research to help older adults maintain their independence and mobility. She studies the prevention, cause and management of age-related mobility impairment and disability. This includes the study of falls, fall-related injuries, fatigue, and impaired gait energetics. Dr. Mackey also has a strong interest in the role of physical activity in the promotion of health and well-being, and in developing strategies to help people adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle behaviours in order to age successfully.
