Kieran O’Doherty is Associate Professor in Applied Social Psychology, University of Guelph. He received his undergraduate degree in physics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and his PhD in psychology at the University of Adelaide, Australia. He has published broadly in the areas of health risk communication, public deliberation, and social and ethical aspects of genetics and genomics. Recent publications include the co-edited volume “Public Engagement and Emerging Technologies”. He is currently funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Genome Canada, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. He is also an Associate Editor for the journal Theory & Psychology.
